Row by Row offers a Bookkeeping Service, tailored to your individual business needs. Whether you are a sole trader, self-employed individual or small business owner, we can help you.
We can assist with your everyday bookkeeping needs, from entering your invoices and payments to producing your financial reports.
Depending on the size of your company you may not need a full-time bookkeeper, with all the added payroll costs. We are there when you need us and you only pay for the time we spend working on your accounts.
We save you the time of doing your accounts yourself, giving you back precious time to grow your business.
As bookkeepers, not accountants we concentrate solely on your bookkeeping, getting to know your business on a more personal level, for that reason our rates and services are cost effective.
We provide our bookkeeping services on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on your need.

Hello and thank you for the time to explore the services I offer, please see below some background details:

I have extensive experience of working within the bookkeeping and accounting profession. Having worked in various roles in the UK and for a short while in the USA. I initially trained and have the foundation experience of using the manual ledger system for both bookkeeping and payroll, from which I progressed to various desktop accounting systems and now the new way of working in the cloud!
I started working freelance as a bookkeeper in 1997, after making the decision to leave a long-standing accounting role, when I was asked to consider continuing keeping their books alongside my new role. This prompted me to gain further clients, and maintained various employed and freelance bookkeeping roles, working in a variety of industries, gaining a broad spectrum of experience and knowledge.
After a career break, I decided to retrain to refresh my skills and become part of a professional body. Gaining membership with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), before setting up Row by Row Bookkeeping.
I enjoy my work and aim to provide a professional, welcoming and 1st class service.

We aim to provide a non-intrusive service, we can work remotely or from your offices. Your paperwork can be sent to us or collected by us. We process your paperwork in an efficient manner, priding ourselves on our accuracy and attention to detail. Providing timely and up to date management reports which inform you of your businesses productivity.
We aim to work with you and your accountant – if you wish.
Our initial fees are hourly – to enable us to get to know your business and needs. You then have the option to move to our monthly fixed fee pricing.

Do I need both an accountant and a bookkeeper?
Most businesses will have both! Or your accountant will have an in-house bookkeeper that does the day to day bookkeeping, allowing them to report your management accounts to you.
We provide the same bookkeeping and reporting services, but with a more informed perspective of your business – saving you money by reducing your accountancy fees.
We then liaise with your accountant, if needed, with up to date informed reports, which will enable them to help you make informed business decisions and allowing you to use your time more productively.
So, we provide a collaborative service between yourselves, us as your bookkeeper and your accountant when needed.
How do we work?
We support your business with the provision of timely, cost effective bookkeeping services.
Can be at our offices or yours, with reporting meetings if needed.
How do we charge?
Our initial fees are hourly – to enable us to get to know your business and needs. You then have the option to move to our monthly fixed fee pricing.
What hours do you work and can you be contacted when not at our office?
Hours of business are 9-6 Monday to Friday, we are also contactable by email outside of working hours if a call back or information is needed.
What software do you use?
We have solid experience of the most popular packages, including Sage and Xero. We are also a pro-advisor for QuickBooks, and can offer competitive pricing for their software package.
We can also provide spreadsheet reporting.
How do you maintain our confidentiality?
Your confidentiality is paramount to us and we adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998.
Are you regulated?
We are regulated and governed by being a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. Which also includes supervision under the Money Laundering Regulations 2007. We also hold Professional Indemnity Insurance.
What type of businesses do you work with?
We work with a variety of businesses from a sole trader that needs guidance with their start up, support for your inhouse bookkeeping or we can provide full in-depth bookkeeping services to well established small businesses.
My accounts are not up to date and in a mess, can you help?
No problem! This is an area we pride ourselves on, we tackle the mess head on, sorting and computing the backlog and putting into place systems to relieve you of the headache.

As a certified QuickBooks pro Advisor we help you transition to the Cloud, whether that be moving from another accounting software, online setup including discounted software, training or information.

We operate a full and professional engagement procedure and, are supervised and compliant with the Money Laundering Regulations 2007. We are also fully insured.
